Bokah Media is my personal creative identity, uniting my work in filmmaking, cinematography, photography, and digital media.
Bokah Media began in 2013 with a simple interest in how light and time can change the way we see an ordinary moment. It started with timelapse and gradually grew into filmmaking and photography. Over time, that experience shaped the way I approach each frame, from planning and shooting to the final edit. The name Bokah comes from bokeh, the soft, out-of-focus light often seen in photography and film. The spelling was changed slightly to give it its own identity while keeping that connection to the camera. Today, Bokah Media brings my creative work together under one name. Direction, cinematography, photography, and post-production are all part of the same process, each helping to shape the final image.
The original logo used colorful bokeh lights around a play symbol, reflecting Bokah Media’s early focus on timelapse, video, and digital media.
The new logo takes inspiration from film strips and bokeh, bringing those ideas into a cleaner and more refined visual identity.
ABOUT ME
BILL MINHYUK KIM Director & visual creator
After studying Digital Media Design at Vancouver Film School in Canada, I have spent over 10 years working as a director, cinematographer, and photographer. My work has taken me across South Korea, Canada, the United States, Japan, and other places, giving me the opportunity to work in a wide range of environments and expand my perspective as a visual creator. I stay involved throughout the entire process, from developing ideas and planning the shoot to directing on set, cinematography, and post-production, making sure the visual direction and atmosphere remain consistent from beginning to end.
Whether it is commercial work or a personal project, I value creating images that feel natural, distinctive, and memorable.
